"... Tưởng tượng, tưởng tượng, tưởng tượng/ cũng như tưởng con voi /hai chân trước không đằng trước/ hai chân sau chả thấy đằng sau/ còn cái đuôi thì nằm cạnh... cái mũi/ ôi con vỏi con voi trong tưởng tượng của riêng mình..." (Hạnh phúc tưởng voi - songpham)

How Do Trees Feel?

How Do Trees Feel?
Written by: Sandra Barteaux Misewich

How do trees feel
When they are very small,
Striving to grow up
Beneath elders 90 feet tall?
How do trees feel
When their arms reach the sky,
Touching the clouds
As they go drifting by?
How do trees feel
Dressed in spring’s best?
High up in their branches
Birds are making their nests?
How do trees feel
When a soft summer breeze
Drifts though their branches,
And rustles their leaves?
How do trees feel
When their branches are bare-
When they stand naked
In fall’s chilly air?
How do trees feel
In winter’s cold blast?
Are they shivering with cold,
Until spring comes at last?
How do trees feel
When a saw cuts through their bark,
Ripping and tearing,
Destroying their heart?
How do trees feel
When they come crashing down-
When they lay all broken
On hard stony ground?
All through their life
Trees reach for the sky.
Do trees go to heaven
When it’s their time to die?
Do Trees Feel?
(Dedicated To My Life Long Best Friend: Nadine Haase Kimball; For Our Grandchildren: Hana, Jasmine, Kate, Alex and Noah. Written in memory of “THE BIG OLD ELM TREE” that grew in the meadow, behind our houses’ in Middleton, Nova Scotia).
"There is a tree for us in heaven,
It’s all dresses up for spring
We will sit beneath the branches
And sing praises to our King"
